The Benefits of Collecting Emails

Learn how collecting emails when scanning benefits your store, brand, and customers.

A scan without an email attached to it is called an unidentified scan, a 3D foot scan that you can’t do much more with.

In contrast, an identified scan is a scan that has an email attached to it. These are extremely valuable for your store and company because the customer profiles you are collecting can be onboarded into your company’s loyalty program and company ecosystem, which creates a connection with your customers that lasts long after they leave your store.

The Win-Win-Win Model

Your ability to collect customer emails is one of the most valuable features of the Volumental Scanner. Getting a customer’s email with their scan benefits everyone - your customer, store, and brand. Collecting emails builds the fundamental bases for your brand’s omni-channel solutions, goals, and future.

Benefits for your customers:

  1. They will receive their 3D scan results via email so they can go back and refer to it whenever they want to.
  2. They will be able to see see any feet changes that may occur if they get scanned again months, or even years later.
  3. They can receive personalized emails from your stores directing them to shoes that our data recommends to be the best fit for their feet.

Benefits for you and your store:

  1. Scan result emails have a high open rate and click-through rate and have been proven to drive customers back into stores. Many customers love sharing their scan results with friends and family and some even post it on social media, driving more traffic back into your store!
  2. You can create more targeted campaigns that focus on your customers' individual needs. You can more easily target the right people, saving on advertising while also increasing sales and reducing returns. For example, instead of sending mass marketing to all of your customers, you can better clear out inventory by targeting your customer base that you know will best fit certain styles.

Important: Remember to collect email addresses at both the point of scanning and point of sale to tie a scan to a purchase as this is what makes the recommendations engine (Fit Engine) smarter and more accurate!
