How to Monitor Store Performance

You can monitor your store’s performance and scanner usage by going to the Scanner Page of the specific scanner located in the store that you want to monitor. Usually, each store has one scanner, but some stores can have multiple scanners.

    • Type & search your store’s name or select it from the list
    • Click on the store name
    • When you’re on the selected Store's Page, click the Settings tab to see the scanner attached to the store
    • Click on the scanner number, and then you will be taken to that Scanner's page

Determining Store Performance using the Scanner Page

The two main scanner performance metrics are:

    • Successful scans made
    • Emails collected

Good-to-Know: an “identified scan”: is a scan that has an email attached to it. Identified scans are one of the most valuable items you can collect in your retail stores because they build the foundation for recommendations and your omnichannel, marketing, and e-commerce goals.

Even if you do not have omnichannel goals, there is a strong correlation between higher scans made and emails collected and higher revenue and return on investment figures. Therefore, your store team should aim to scan as many customers as possible and also aim to collect customer emails with every scan they take.

Good performance means that stores are scanning & collecting customer emails consistently.

    • Scans per day: The bar graph at the top shows how many scans were made at your store per day in the last 30 days, 90 days, or all time.
    • Outcome: a visual that shows the successful versus failed scan rate. If your store's success rate is lower than 70%, then you should investigate why. Perhaps your store staff needs some retraining, or your scanner needs to be moved to an area with less sunlight. The best solution all depends on what error messages your store experiences the most. The error message breakdown can be seen on this visual so you can quickly see what the most common failure is. • Gender: this visual shows you the gender breakdown of the customers who were scanned. If you scan significantly more women than men, perhaps it would be good to consider stocking up more women's shoes in your inventory.

    • Email Capture Rate: this visual shows you what percentage of the total scans made have emails. Email capture rates above 60% are considered healthy, but can still improve. Above 75% is considered good. Top performing stores average above an 80% email capture rate.

Pro Tip: Give Store Managers Access to Cloud

We highly recommend empowering your store managers and leaders by giving them standard-level access to Cloud. This is especially valuable if you have many stores under your management because it allows your store leaders to monitor their own stores and drive usage and performance in their own teams.

If you have Manager-level Cloud access, you can create new Standard-level Cloud users yourself.

You can see how to do so here.

    Reminders:

    • Cloud Data Access: The data that you and your organization are allowed to view and download is determined by your agreement or by corporate headquarters. Please be aware that you may or may not have access to all the Cloud data shown in the example videos.
    • Scanners must be “online” (connected to the internet) to be able to upload scan data to the Cloud. “Offline” scanners means they are not connected to the internet and will not upload scan data to the Cloud.
*Note: Once you bring your scanner back online, any scans that were taken while it was offline will upload into the system, so no scans will ever be lost forever.
