Scan Results: Foot Size vs. Shoe Size

Why foot size may be different from shoe size.

When scanning customers, you may experience situations where the foot size you see on their scan results does not match up with the size they normally purchase, or actually purchase that day.

What is the foot size?

The foot size appears on the 3D scan results page. It is based on the standard international Brannock size chart measurements or, in some cases, your brand’s specific sizing chart. Either way, is important to know that foot size does not equal shoe size.

Foot size should only be used as a rough indication because shoe sizing really varies by brand, shoe style, and even within brands.

The Volumental scanner is the most accurate measuring device in retail, so each of the individual measurements is 100% accurate, give or take a 1 mm margin.

Size discrepancies in the footwear industry are a big problem that haven't been solved yet.
And because of personal fit preferences - some people prefer their shoes a bit more snug, while others prefer their shoes more roomy, and everything in between.
